Goodnestone

While we were in the gardens at Goodnestone, we found this plant in one of the borders and identified it using a phone app called PlantNet.

It's Acidanthera Murielae or Abyssinian Gladiolus.

We ordered one mail order and a few weeks later it flowered! I wasn't expecting flowers until next year.

The Fitzwalter Arms in Goodnestone was the first pub we'd been into since they all re-opened. It was a strange experience partly because they had a perspex screen at the bar with a hole at the bottom to pass you your drinks - but it wasn't tall enough for a wine glass!

The lone lily flower is not that special except that last year we cleared out this top pond and removed all (we thought) of the lily as it was too vigorous for where it was.
