Caribbean Cruise - Ship's Interior

Strangely, I don't seem to have taken any photos of our cabin!
This is the atrium spanning decks 1 to 3

Buffet restaurant

Clever Scandinavian idea - stack the plates upside down so they don't get dirty

One of the many buffet serveries

In the atrium

Explorers lounge

Another (small) restaurant

Caribbean Cruise - St. Thomas 2

This time, at the last island, we were the only ship in port

Our island transport

These cocktails had a LOT of rum in them

Tempted to buy this!

Caribbean Cruise - St. Thomas - Last Stop!

Swimming with turtles.
Photos taken with a disposable underwater camera

Coral

Best images of turtles.
Quite deep down - about the size of dustbin lids, occasionally they surface for air

Caribbean Cruise - St. Martin/St.Maarten

Another great big ship alongside!

The usual photos from the viewpoints

Half of the island is French (St.Martin) and half of the island is Dutch (St.Maarten)
This is the unmanned border post

Caribbean Cruise - Antigua 2

Eric Clapton's house - well disguised, you may have to click on the photo to enlarge it?

The bay behind his house where he's apparently funded a drug rehabilitation clinic

Another viewpoint!

Very fresh fish

Caribbean Cruise - Antigua 1

All the woodwork in this church had been destroyed by termites and it was gradually being rebuilt. The congregation were welcoming visitors - and their donations

Beautiful new wooden ceiling

Carribean Cruise - Big Ship!

This huge ship moored alongside us in Antigua.
6000 passengers compared to our 900.
I had to take two photos - one to the stern...

And one to the bow...

This was a walkway with a glass floor so you could 'walk on water'

I think our ship was more elegant?

Caribbean Cruise - Guadeloupe

One of the first things we saw on this French island was a Hindu temple

We had a long hot walk to the nearer of these two waterfalls

Avenue of Royal Palms

Caribbean Cruise - Barbados

These screws were driven down by the drive shaft you can just about see on the left, all powered by a steam engine

The screws pressed down on these 'see-saws' which lifted the boat out of the water

Seen on our coach tour of the island

Cattle with cattle egret birds

In dock alongside a disused crane

The concrete structure is submerged for a boat to enter and then 'pumped up' with air to make it rise and form a dry dock
