This was our first glimpse of the "Falkirk Wheel" boat lift

These are the original models for the "Kelpies" which we will come to later

As there's no waterway link between England and Scotland we had to hire a boat rather than taking our own.

This is Cactus Wren which was brand new this season and had only been out about four times

Wetheral

Just back from a fortnight in Scotland.

We broke our journey by staying at The Crown Hotel in Wetheral for one night.

It was excellent!

The walk started from Angel underground station but we walked to the start from St Pancras.

The first pub opened at 7:30 am but we managed to wait until noon.
