Foundling Museum

The Foundling Hospital admitted its first babies in 1741 and was open until 1954 when it placed its last child in foster care

It was founded by Thomas Coram and was the first children's charity and first public art gallery.
When looking for funding the charity targeted the wives of wealthy men as they thought they would be more sympathetic to the cause

Lots of precious artworks

Thomas Coram who would have preferred that I'd taken a better photo

Cotehele - The Gardens

Very well maintained gardens - lots of volunteers!

There was even a garden guide on hand for you to ask, "What's that plant"?
She had a catalogue and told us he name and which nursery to buy it from.

Looe Valley Railway

This is an excellent trip travelling from Liskeard to Looe along a very picturesque route.
It doesn't take long - but it's not very expensive!

Train at Liskeard

Redbourn Fireworks

Interrupting Devon & Cornwall report with these photos of tonight's Redbourn firework display.
Notoriously difficult to photograph especially with my 'point and shoot' camera!
