Eric & Saffie's Christmas Present

The treat dispenser!
They have to put their paws into slots in the sides and knock treats from one level to the next before they finally drop in to the bottom trough.

Eric...being Eric...decides it's easier to knock the whole thing over and let the treats fall out.

It's all a bit tiring though!

Christmas Tree Festival

Yesterday we went to this festival in Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead

Funny, there was some stained glass there!

This tree was decorated by the badgers who are the young section of St. John's ambulance

Geffrye Museum - Post 3

Coming up to date now

One of the first artificial Christmas trees

"Loft living" Christmas

I thought this was one of the best of the room descriptions...

Downstairs there was an exhibition about teenagers' bedrooms, but that's another story

When we left the museum we took a stroll down Shoreditch High Street to catch the overground train from the next station along and must have passed at least 10 Vietnamese restaurants!

Geffrye Museum - Post 2

Not very festive in the 1600s

Think I can see a bit of holly!

That's more like it...

Geffrye Museum - Christmas 2016 - Post 1

Here's a first! We went to The Geffrye Museum in London and it was actually on my "London Mini Map", but only just - in the top right corner.

It's the "Museum of the Home" and explores the home from 1600 to the present day through displays of living rooms.

At the moment, the rooms are decorated for Christmas although in the early rooms you would hardly know it

The museum is set in Grade 1 listed 18th century almshouse buildings in Hoxton

Here's the founder - Sir Robert Geffrye

Bushey Rose Garden 2

It's all very well maintained and well worth a visit - perhaps not in December though!

Bushey Rose Garden 1

Now...you may realise that we went here slightly earlier than December this year!

It's well worth a visit - and free as well

Waddesdon Manor - Christmas 2016 - Part 3

Outside there was a Christmas market with around 50 stalls.
It all looked very inviting but by the time we got out there it was pouring with rain so we had a quick look round and then went in search of lunch

In one of the buildings of the stables area there was a huge gingerbread model of Waddesdon Manor.
You can get an idea of the size from the woman in the second photo.
The whole room smelt very nice!

Waddesdon Manor - Christmas 2016 - More...

More of the trees...

This tree was reflected in the mirror and I just managed to crouch down enough to get myself hidden behind the clock

Spectacular table decoration?

Paper tree - looks like a wedding dress?
