Cruising around the UK - Abergavenny

On our way back from the railway we stopped in Abergavenny.
Here's a nice wonky barn

A stained glass window, of course

Nice old clock which was showing exactly the right time

We were very lucky to be travelling in the first carriage right behind the engine.

What day is it? What day was it?

Up until last week, the foil packs containing my morning medication had the day of the week printed on them by each individual tablet - now, the new batches don't have this. How do I know what day of the week it is?
The answer is that I have to wait until I take my late-night statin to find out what day of the week it WAS as they still have the days printed on them,
What if the new batch of those don't have a day printed on them?

Cruising around the UK - Cardiff

Someone said that we would be going through a lock to moor up in Cardiff - I didn't believe them, but here we are being guided through the lock by two tugs.
Unfortunately it was quite windy and the ship's captain (and the tug captains - and our pilot!) 'clonked' the ship on the lock wall as we entered.
We had to sit in the lock for around an hour until the wind died down before we could proceed to our berth.

Post Number 900

This is post number 900 and here is my first 'concession' after reaching my 60th birthday.
£8 instead of £9 for entry to Broughton Castle in the Cotswolds!
Back to our more interesting cruise around the UK next time...

Cruising around the UK - Liverpool

Every port of call had representatives from the tourist board there to welcome us which was very impressive.
We didn't go on any excursions here as we had visited the city recently.
We had kept the new museum on the waterfront to visit on this day.
