Greenwich Pub Walk 2

We then walked down to the River Thames and along the Thames Path to the Trafalgar Tavern

Inland a bit and across the Prime Meridian

To the Plume of Feathers for our third pint and a very good lunch indeed

Grenwich Pub "Walk"

If this is Greenwich - this must be the Cutty Sark

Would you believe we walked past this pub...

And this one...

And this one...

To get to the Coach and Horses in Greenwich Market and have our first beer!

Stafford Museum

The museum is right in the main street and certainly worth visiting

The displays are all very well presented

This is a recreation of a hardware shop in Stafford

Note the reference to the "Two Ronnies" four candles sketch

St.Mary's Church - Stafford

Here's St.Mary's in the middle of Stafford

There's a surprise - a stained glass window photo!

I particularly liked the kneeler dedicated to Poppy Smith (bottom left)

Stafford

We took advantage of another ticket offer from London Midland trains and went to Stafford from Hemel Hempstead.
These are some almshouses on the way from the station to the town centre.

The chapel (above) is the red door.

A collection of shops in "Church Mews".

Back To The Summer

As we've got snow forecast for this week, I thought you might like to see these photos of butterflies on a Buddleia Davidii bush in our garden.
Well, it's not called "Butterfly Bush" for nothing!
Not bad photos from my tiny Lumix point and shoot camera?

View From The Shard 2

One of the most interesting views were those of the railways.
London Bridge Station

Cannon Street & Blackfriars Stations

Charing Cross Station in the distance

Trip Up The Shard

A few weeks ago, we went to London to take a trip to the top of The Shard.
This is the view from London Bridge Station

From The George Inn in Southwark

From the road behind London Bridge Station

All around the viewing platform are signs telling you what you can see, and in which direction

Pegasus Bridge

As we got towards Caen to catch the ferry, we were glad we had left enough time to visit Pegasus Bridge and the cafe which was the first place to be liberated at the end of the war
