I’ve no restrictions on what I can do now, and the next appointment is in 6 – 8 weeks’ time when he will probably plan the second operation to remove the silicone oil from the eye, and replace it with something resembling the normal fluid in the eye.

Retinal Detachment - Post-Op Visit 2
We went back to Addenbrookes
yesterday afternoon to see the consultant who was very pleased with how it was
progressing. He said the retina is all back in place with no sign of scarring.
It’s still a bit wrinkled but he said it was in quite a state when it was
wandering around in the eye so he’s happy with it, and it will smooth itself
out in time. I may never get very good fine vision back in that eye – but wait
and see.
