Bishops Castle

Bishops Castle is a nice little place, but it's a bit of a climb up the High Street

Of course, there's a pub at the top with good views from the garden

Hereford Cathedral - Part 3

Rather colourful shrine!

It's hard to get a good photo of the cathedral - so here's one I made earlier

Hereford Cathedral - Part 2

While you're here you need to see the ancient map of the world - Mappa Mundi.
This is the nameplate from a famous locomotive

First Christmas Menu

Just to interrupt things for a moment. We picked up our first Christmas menu from The Boat House in Braunston, Northamptonshire,  on 14th August.
Cheap old paper things they are too, with rubbish illustrations and appalling wording on the front that you can't read.
Come on, Marston's Brewery - you can do better than this!

Croft Castle

Another castle! This time, National Trust and not English Heritage - so we get in free at this one...

Church in the grounds

Not too far to walk from the castle to the church!

Stokesay Castle - Part 2

Nice WW1 memorial

Certainly a strange mixture of architectural styles

Stokesay Castle

We did a five mile circular walk to the castle

This was our first view of the castle from the opposite hillside
