Two New Arrivals

We have two very timid kittens from Cat Protection.

They were abandoned at three weeks old and are now eighteen weeks old.

We've had them since Wednesday but haven't been able to touch them yet!

Each day they are getting a bit braver, so we are getting there - slowly.

Rainbow Cake

We went to our neighbour's grand-daughter's first birthday party and had some rainbow cake.

Imagine the artificial colourings in that!

Went to Anglesey Abbey the day after we got the new car to meet our good friends from St.Ives and to visit the snowdrop festival.

Most of the snowdrops were past their best but the rest of the flowers and gardens were spectacular.

How can I have forgotten to tell you about our lovely new Mercedes B 180?

Really nice to drive with all sorts of features like auto-park, auto-wipers, auto-lights etc.etc.

This is St.Margarets Bay to the east of Dover.

This is the house which was owned by the author Ian Fleming.

During a recent visit to Canterbury, not too surprisingly, we went in to a pub.

It was The Shakespeare which sold excellent Shepherd Neame beer...

...and had this very interesting courtyard garden...

R.I.P. Poppy

POPPY 23-7-1996 to 25-2-2014

 

Sorry for the delay in postings but we had to have Poppy put to sleep on Tuesday.

She was a constant companion for us both for seventeen and a half years and for the last five years had been a "Retirement Advisor" for me.

 

To say that she will be missed is an understatement...

This is the spectacular 'lounge' at Sibton Park where tea and scones are provided for you on arrival. It's also where the excellent bondholders dinners are held. These are a great way to enjoy a first class meal and meet fellow bondholders to share experiences - usually 'first class' - of H.P.B.

Just back from a very wet week in Kent at the Holiday Property Bond "Sibton Park"

Right by the entrance is Sibton Park Cricket Club and we knew we were in for a wet week when we saw their pitch.

Lunchtime Stopover

Finally completed this 1000 piece jigsaw which was a lot harder than it looks!

It's called "Lunchtime Stopover" and we thought it quite appropriate.

We bought it in an Oxfam shop in Middlewich while we were cruising on our boat Stella

St Lawrence Church - Ayot St.Lawrence

One of our footpath walks - this time between Christmas and New Year from Ayot St.Lawrence.

Not many of us as quite a few were away.

Medieval Tiles At Redbourn Museum

Here are the tiles which were made by children at our summer 'Medieval Mayhem' event.

They have all been fired by our potter friend and are waiting for better weather before being mounted on a wall in the garden.

I think you will agree that they are very good indeed?
